Speak Up...

The family at Rowdy Acres is always eager to welcome new friends, both big and small. Each day is special, it so inspiring waking up to the sight of Snowflake’s little face. Snowflake, a maltipoo, is a bundle of love and joy, her presence lights up the entire room. My dog Midna and her are inseparable, like two peas in a pod, always full of energy and happiness. Their playful antics and boundless enthusiasm bring smiles to everyone around them.

As I embrace the joy these wonderful animals bring, I am reminded of the wisdom in Proverbs 31:8-9:

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

This verse encourages us all to extend our compassion beyond our immediate circle, advocating for those who need our support the most. My daughter has always faced challenges with anxiety, global dyspraxia, developmental delays, and more. Recently, we received a diagnosis of SCN8A disease, a rare genetic disorder that affects the nervous system. This diagnosis has brought clarity to many of the struggles she has endured.

Despite these challenges, she has been incredibly blessed to have three amazing dogs who have played a crucial role in her life. These loyal companions have provided her with comfort, companionship, and a sense of security. Their presence has been a source of immense joy and support, helping her navigate the complexities of her condition.

Each of her dogs has formed a unique bond with her, understanding her needs in remarkable ways. Their distinctive and intuitive connection with her reminds me of how God always provides for me—His provisions are always timely and for my good.

Just as God does this for me, my daughter’s dogs seem to sense when she is anxious or struggling and respond with unconditional love and patience. This companionship has not only helped alleviate some of her anxiety, but it has also encouraged her to engage more with the world around her.

At Rowdy Acres, we are dedicated to fostering a loving and inclusive environment where every creature, big or small, is loved and appreciated. The bond and joy shared by Snowflake and Midna remind us daily of the beauty of friendship. Whether you walk on two legs or four, we encourage you to be a loyal friend. In both good times and challenging moments, everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, patience, and love.
