Look at the birds of the air

Back in July I had the opportunity to make a new friend Abe. He is a sweet, energetic, terrier mix. He and my dog Midna gave the family of Rowdy Acres many laughs, filling us with sweet memories. One of his favorite things to do was hop up on the couch, snuggle up on a blanket and enjoy a bone. The look on his face is full of contentment and joy.

Matthew 6:26

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sew or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feed them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

Just as God provides for the birds and animals, trust that he will provide for your needs. Have faith that you are valued and cared deeply for. We are all immensely precious to God. Abe licking his chops so contently reminds us to find contentment in what we have. Avoid worrying about the future and focus on the present. Cultivate a heart of gratitude for God’s daily provisions and blessings in your life. He is a good father and will always provide for his children. Just as you care for your dog, extend that care to others.  Show kindness and support to those around you, knowing that everyone is valuable to God. My cup runs over with gratitude for God’s love, provisions and faithfulness.
