In a race ...

This past week, studying the book of Joshua has deeply convicted me about what it means to surrender. Surrendering to the Lord involves submitting to His divine authority and then moving forward with informed intention to bring glory to God. At Rowdy Acres, our family desires to honor and glorify Him. We strive to do this daily by loving, playing, and caring for your fur baby.

The photo of Max running with purpose and intention vividly reminds me of how we should approach our relationship with the Lord. Just as Max sprints with determination and focus to be the first dog to reach the toy, we too should pursue our faith with the same fervor and dedication. Max’s unwavering commitment to his goal is a powerful metaphor for how we should seek to honor God in all aspects of our lives. With radical intention, we should strive to deepen our connection with Him, ensuring that our actions reflect our devotion and desire to glorify Him in everything we do.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NIV):

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

Yes, Max is running with conviction to be the first one to the dog toy. Are you running to be the first one to the prize, toy or the forever crown? I encourage you to search your heart and examine your motivation. Are you seeking your own glory, or are you striving to bring glory to God? Surrender to God and you will be amazed by His grace and the ways He will work through you.

By aligning your intentions with His will, you will experience a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment, knowing that your efforts are contributing to His greater plan. Let us challenge ourselves to live with this mindset, ensuring that our actions reflect our dedication to honoring and glorifying God in all that we do.
